Lindsay Clancy’s ex opens up about how he still talks to his three children years after their deaths

Patrick Clancy continues to speak to his three children all the time, asking them for help as he navigates the pain following their deaths. During an interview with correspondent Ross Douthat, Patrick revealed the personal way he maintains a connection with Cora, Dawson, and Callan. When asked what he says to them, he shared, “Help me.” He added that this is something he does all the time.

As reported by the NY Post, this marks Patrick’s first interview since the conclusion of the trial for his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy. Lindsay, a 36-year-old former delivery nurse, admitted to strangling their three children in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts home in January 2023. 

The children were five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan. During the trial, Patrick provided testimony on the witness stand where he described Lindsay as a loving mother. He recalled how she would make up songs with their children and prepare special meals for them, such as green eggs and ham.

He has been subjected to misinformation campaigns 

The legal proceedings surrounding the case gained significant national attention. Lawyers for Lindsay argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings, which meant she could not be held accountable for her actions. 

The jury deliberated for more than 38 hours over the course of seven days. Ultimately, Judge William Sullivan was notified that the jury could not reach a verdict, resulting in an 11-1 hung jury after a single holdout refused to vote for an acquittal.

Since the trial, Patrick has dealt with more than just the loss of his children. He has been the target of a barrage of threats and misinformation campaigns led by various influencers who have blamed him for the tragedy. Patrick, who is 38, has since remarried and moved to New York, but the online harassment has persisted. 

His lawyer, Howard Cooper, addressed the situation in a statement. He stated, “Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign.” 

He further explained the nature of these attacks by saying, “This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other vile claims.”
