Chloe Kim, the three-time Olympic medalist, recently revealed that her physical therapist played matchmaker and set her up with NFL star Myles Garrett. This happened after Kim, had reached a point where she was officially “done with men” and actively considering a sperm donor. She shared the wild story of how she and Garrett met and started dating during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
It turns out Kim and Garrett, who first sparked romance rumors in May 2025, actually share a mutual friend. This friend is apparently a super-connector, responsible for linking athletes with various specialists, including physical therapists. According to People, earlier that same year during the X Games, Kim was apparently “kind of venting” to her therapist Vinh about her dating frustrations.
She said, “I was like, ‘I can’t date anymore, like, I’m done. I’m just gonna be single forever. I was being so dramatic. I’m gonna get a sperm donor. I don’t need a man.’” It sounds like she was at her absolute wits’ end with the dating scene. Let’s be real, it can be pretty tough, especially when you are a world-class athlete.

Her physical therapist Vinh then asked her what she was actually looking for in a partner, someone Kim has spoken highly of in the past. Kim laid out her criteria, saying she wanted someone “tall, handsome and kind, close with their family and somebody that’s equally as successful as me if not more.”
When the host, Amanda Hirsch questioned if she had encountered many guys intimidated by her success, Kim confirmed that she thought so. “I just want someone to not be intimidated by me and my success,” she emphasized. It’s something many high-profile couples talk about, where both partners support and push each other to succeed. Vinh then casually asked, “What about Myles?” Kim said she wasn’t familiar with the NFL star. She said she was “bored in Aspen” at the time and she agreed to talk to him. Garrett was apparently on vacation in Cabo when the FaceTime call happened. Vinh used the call as an opportunity to go over “a couple things work related” with Garrett, while also introducing him to Kim. Kim described their first conversation as “super small talk,” saying it was “so quick, like ‘Hey, what’s up?'”
After that brief chat, Kim fully assumed it was a “one and done” situation and that she would “never hear from this man again.” But Vinh had other plans, sharing Kim’s number with Garrett. To her surprise, Garrett texted her right away to ask how her X Games practice went. Kim joked on the podcast, “Do I have really low standards or is that really sweet?”
She then revealed that Garrett has texted her “every day since” that first message. Their relationship has clearly blossomed since that unique introduction. Garrett was there to support Kim when she won her silver medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Kim later mentioned that the couple makes an effort not to let their high-profile careers dominate their relationship.
She said they “don’t really talk about our jobs” much, adding that “Getting a break from work and just enjoying each other’s company is nice.”
