Everything was set for Tom Brady’s permanent move to the broadcast booth, but a single ‘fun’ realization about flag football has fans on edge

Tom Brady is playing it cool about whether he’ll actually compete in the 2028 Olympics, even as flag football becomes an official sport. The legendary quarterback will be 48 when the Games hit Los Angeles. He recently weighed in on the possibility of going for gold. While he is not entirely ruling it out, it sounds like he has other plans.

Brady, who’s stepping back into his quarterback role for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on March 21, was asked about the Olympics during an appearance on Good Morning America. He admitted he “would never say never,” but quickly added that it “is probably unlikely, just so you know.” It seems like he’s keeping the door a tiny crack open, which is just enough to get fans buzzing, but his practical side definitely takes over.

He believes the opportunity is really for the younger generation of NFL stars. “I think for these young guys,” Brady explained, referring to current players who have expressed interest in Team USA “it’s good for them to do it.” According to People, he even suggested a different role for himself. “If I ever wanted to come in as an advisory role, as a coach; something like that that’s probably better suited for me.”

Feels like he’s letting the younger guys have their moment

He’s happy to let guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen “get out there and try to win a gold medal for the U.S.” While host Robin Roberts pointed out his “never say never” opener, Brady confessed that the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic “has got me a little excited.” However, he quickly pivoted to why he’s feeling good about staying retired from playing football professionally. It sounds like he’s got a lot on his plate, and a full-time return to the field isn’t exactly in the cards.

Brady is really committed to his post-playing career. “I love my Fox job, I love doing my broadcasting, it’s a big commitment to that. I love the NFL, I love the Raiders, I love working on that and the different projects I have. So I have a lot going on,” he said. It’s clear he’s building a new empire off the field, which is great to see.

Speaking of a lot going on, Brady’s personal life has also been making headlines. He claimed in January that he doesn’t “have much time for a personal life these days” despite some very interesting recent sightings. After cozying up to influencer Alix Earle on New Year’s Eve and seeing her again at a Super Bowl party.

Brady was spotted having a long chat with Yael Cohen, the ex-wife of Scooter Braun, at a birthday party in Los Angeles.
