Paul Pierce tore into the Knicks’ title hopes, but his savage Instagram model comparison could make you question the team’s worth

Woah that's harsh!

The New York Knicks stand third in the Eastern Conference, and, as things stand, they are looking to go all the way to the Playoffs. They did make it to the playoffs last year, where they were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers, and even though they have performed well, things don’t seem to be going as planned this season. Judging by their condition, Celtics Hall of Famer Paul Pierce hit the team like Marcus slammed into Maher by comparing them hilariously with Instagram models.

According to Basketball Network, Pierce declared that the Knicks would yet again fall flat in the playoffs. He said that as soon as the Playoffs start, it will get clearer that the Knicks are not as good as they look. After this, he compared them with Instagram models who look good on social media, but in real life, they are not even close to what people imagine them to be. In his words, the Knicks would not win the NBA title again this year.

The former Celtics player, in his statement, said, “Look, y’all don’t even know who to start, and playoffs start in two, three weeks. What’s going on? How you gonna say they are a contender? They are not gonna be fine. You know what they are? You know what I call the Knicks? They are Instagram models. They look good on it when you are scrolling, and then you catch them in person, and it’s like, ‘Wow, that ain’t what I thought it was. That ain’t what I thought it was.’”

Despite four playoff appearances in five years, the team still can’t get over the hump and claim an NBA title

Paul Pierce might have made a harsh analogy about the Knicks, but their record seems to support some of his claims. The Knicks have made four NBA Playoffs since 2020, but they have not won the NBA title in any of those seasons. Their best record came last season when they won the series against the 76ers, and winning one or two series in 4 years is not something that the team has planned.

Stats suggest the Knicks might have had their best record in league games, but as soon as the Playoffs start, their team seems to crumble. Even though they had their best record last season, making 50 wins in the league, they still could not clinch the NBA title. With odds stacked against them this year, it is yet to be seen whether they will go all the way to win their long-awaited NBA title since 1976 or end up getting thrashed in the NBA once again.
