Jon Jones, despite being one of the most formidable fighters of all time, seems to come under scrutiny when it comes to his off-cage life. Recently, a video went viral where the UFC fighter once again found himself under questions for traffic rage. In the video, the alleged teenager victim claimed that Jones nearly hit him three times before the confrontation and admitted he flipped him off without recognizing who was driving. Now, the athlete has responded to the situation, telling his side of the story.
As per HITC, Jon Jones, speaking on his side of the story, explained that he was not the one who started this up-and-down against the youngster; it was actually the youngster, from several blocks away, who was trying to intimidate him through constant honking and engine revving. Jon added that it became a constant irritation while driving, and he confronted the kid because it was me who could bar this, but if it had been a senior citizen, this could have become a huge problem for them.
The fighter’s exact words were, “This kid proceeded to chase my car down for two blocks, revving his engine and trying to intimidate me. I am glad this happened to me and not one of the senior citizens in our community. I am proud of myself for standing up for myself and not allowing that kind of bullying or intimidation.” These words seem to suggest that Jon is placing the blame on the teenager, as the teenager’s behavior led to the road rage.
Jon Jones claims the boy initiated it, but he can be seen silent in the footage.
In his tweet, Jon Jones tried to suggest that he was the one who called the boy out. On the other hand, in his viral footage it was the boy who was trying to question Jones for his alleged misconduct on the road. Jones, in that video, doesn’t seem to mention Beltran’s misconduct, which could look suspicious to some, as he was just trying to calm the boy before flipping him off. Road rages can get far worse than expected, but this one, despite not being physical, ended up in a controversy.
Even though it has not been confirmed whether Jones or Beltran was the actual offender, the case has renewed attention to Jones’s past traffic offenses. In 2025 September, Jon Joes was accused of abusing an officer and threatening him while driving drunk. Even though the alleged man who ran off the scene was declared as Jones by the women alongside the driver, the charges were dropped afterward, as it was unclear in the bodycam video whether it was the UFC fighter or not.
With this new video going viral, Jon Jones has once again tried to clarify the situation, but the public is divided, with some believing him while others are not inclined to believe his allegations about the boy. The authorities have not shared any details of what actually happened, and will surely be looking into the matter to determine exactly what happened.
