More details about Deep Down, Capcom Online’s upcoming PS4 title, have hit the web. Released earlier this morning during Sony’s pre-TGS press conference event, Deep Down is explained to be an RPG that features randomly generated maps, monsters, and weapons.
Set in New York in 2094, Deep Down’s latest gameplay video shows off these randomly generated dungeons, but the big story here is that this definitely does not sound like a traditional RPG. From the sounds of the trailer, Deep Down could be something like the Assassin’s Creed series. A game where the players actions are taking place in an alternate universe, similar to the relationship between Desmond, his relatives, and the Animus.
It’s yet to be seen if this plot will be as deep as a single player experience, or if it’s simply just a thinly-laid device to provide context for the confirmed multiplayer-centric title.
Deep Down is projected to be coming to the PlayStation 4 in 2014 from Capcom Online Games. We’ll likely be hearing more about Deep Down in the coming weeks as the game will be at Tokyo Game Show.
