“The number one priority was to make a world that people wanted to be in,” that’s according to Bungie. It’s a pretty good mantra for building a video game, and especially one that’s as ambitious as Destiny. We’re more than halfway through 2013, and before you know it, Destiny will be on store shelves. It’s appropriate that we’re getting yet another developer diary video from Bungie for Destiny.

The five-minute long video doesn’t offer too much by way of new details, but definitely highlights the core features and design philosophy that Bungie is striving to hit with the 2014 release. Following the game’s E3 reveal, Bungie got a mixed response on the cooperative shooter. While mostly positive, some took Bungie to task for showing what looked very similar to Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2.

“If we can simultaneously capture amazing action game, but still allow players to customize it for themselves. They can pick the path they want to take, and hit all of those elements, we can bottle up that lightning a second time,” according to Bungie’s Sage Merrill.

Destiny is Bungie’s first game since leaving the Halo franchise behind, and it’s due out in 2014 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, as well as current-gen consoles.
