Today, shortly after Ashes Cricket 13 was stricken from Steam because it was too awful, cricket fans have a shimmering new ray of hope. The first official trailer for Don Bradman Cricket 14 has been released, which can be found embedded above this.

Not much is known about DBC14, so here’s a quick run-down of the few facts we do. It is being developed by Big Ant Studios, while Tru Blu Entertainment are the publishers.

Game Features

  • Manual appeals
  • A Decision Referral System with virtual IR imaging
  • A day/night cycle
  • First-person camera
  • Dynamic weather
  • Pitch degradation
  • Cheerleaders for T20
  • The ability to save during online matches.

Fully functioning Career Mode

You can control a user-created character who starts at 16, through a career that lasts at most 20 in-game years. You can gain proficiency as a batsman, bowler, all-rounder or wicket-keeper. This is dependent on how you perform in matches. You have to climb through five ranks, eventually letting the player bat or bowl for their respective international team. An online leaderboard will be scored by money earned in the career mode.

Don Bradman Cricket 14 will release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, though no release date or rough time period has been announced yet.
