The first video has been released for Gran Turismo 6, alongside the announcement of the racer which is slated to arrive on the PlayStation 3 during holiday 2013.  According to details coming out of the Gran Turismo anniversary event, the sequel will contain all of the cars from the last GT game, as well as a new lineup of historic and new model vehicles to bring the count to 1200 at launch.

Seven new tracks will appear in Gran Turismo 6, bringing the total to 33 tracks and over 70 variations. While the official press release is yet to hit the wire, a leaked press release confirms the new features of the game, as well as a quote from series creator Kaz Yamauchi:

“It’s amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo. Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We’re pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform.”

Sony has yet to confirm the news, with the official press release still under embargo.
