The complete surprise reveal of Tekken 7 around EVO 2014 took many fans by surprise. Now with San Diego Comic Con going on, Katsuhiro Harada attended a panel on Friday which focused on fighting games and of course had some Tekken 7 info.

Harada went on to talk about the goal for Tekken 7 to have a “very detailed backstory” and how it will serve as a conclusion to the Mishima saga and answer why Heihachi is trying to kill his grandson, we will find out exactly who Devil Jin is and other Tekken mysteries. Another key point is that Tekken 7 will feature character designs from seven guest artists; Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta), Yusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem Awakening, No More Heroes), Ninnin (Duel Masters, Cardfight!! Vanguard) and Kenichiro Yoshimura (Max Anarchy/Anarchy Reigns). He confirmed that the game will feature one on one battles not tag battles. Finally they confirmed that Lars from Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will return.

During the panel they also introduced an extended trailer which features more story and is significantly longer than the original trailer which served as a teaser. Check out the extended trailer below.

Tekken 7 has no set release date yet but it is likely to be sometime late 2015.
