Shadow Warrior originally developed by 3D Realms received the reboot treatment in 2013 with Flying Wild Hogs handling development and published by Devolver Digital. It was met with great fan response and will soon be making its debut on next-gen consoles.
At it’s heart Shadow Warrior is a FPS title with the main character being a modern ninja who fights off demonic hordes. Almost like a first-person version of Ninja Gaiden, except with more guns. The game itself is intense and filled with bloodied decapitations and explosions. It also has a lot of adult oriented humor strewn inside it.
Fans of the arena shooter genre will also likely be drawn to Shadow Warrior as it has resemblance to Doom and older Duke Nukem titles as well as Croteam’s Serious Sam. Shadow Warrior is set to release on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on September 23rd in North America and September 26th in Europe.
