Nintendo has released a new video showcasing what the gameplay is like in Star Fox Zero while playing the co-op mode. One person plays using the TV, while the other uses the Wii U’s gamepad.
The co-op mode in Star Fox Zero is unique because players aren’t just piloting two spaceships. Instead, one person is moving the ship around while the other person concentrates on the shooting only. Both players have to coordinate with one another in order to be successful playing together.
The video is over 7 minutes long and they played the Sector Beta mission. The video shows a fair amount of gameplay footage plus the two gamers give commentary on the controls and how the co-op mode works. Both players may need a bit of practice in order to play the game properly with one another.
There is a bit of replay value offered by playing the co-op mode. It sounds like it’s much more of a challenge playing with someone else other than just tackling it by yourself. It’s also great that the co-op works offline so you don’t need to internet to enjoy it.
Star Fox Zero comes out exclusively for the Wii U console on May 22nd, 2016. Australia gets it on May 23rd, while Japan gets is first on May 21st. The game also includes Star Fox Guard as a downloadable title.
