StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is due out in March. The first expansion pack for the real time strategy title will feature a lot of changes in the multiplayer side of gameplay. New units and re-balanced game will be of utmost importance to competitive players, but for the rest us, Blizzard’s adding a bunch of new features to bring the StarCraft II community closer together and make new features easier to use.

The video below details the new design behind the interface upgrades in StarCraft II, which Kevin Johnson of Blizzard reveals was the result of wanting to make the interface more intuitive and easier to use.

Blizzard has already announced that Heart of the Swarm will feature both Groups and Clans, but delves a bit further in the video. Johnson also explains the major differences between groups and clans, as well as a bunch of other social features launching with Swarm.

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is due out on March 12th for the PC and Mac, and fans will get a first look at the game at MLG Winter Season where some of the best players in the world will do battle in a pair of invite-only events.
