Bandai Namco chose to announce Tekken 7 at EVO 2014 instead of at E3. A trailer was revealed which gave us an interesting take on the story for the game.

No platforms for Tekken 7 have been announced yet, but it’s presumed it would be available for the PS4 and Xbox One. This is because the the game is being built using Unreal Engine 4. Unreal Engine 4 is one of the most powerful game engines available right now. The game will look stunning judging by the tech demos we’ve seen from the engine in the past.

In terms of Tekken 7’s trailer, it hints this could be the last game we see from the Mishima family. Heihachi’s wife is narrating to Kazuya that Heihachi must be stopped. A slogan for the game states this is the “Final Battle”. Kazuya confronts Heihachi saying “you killed my mother”.

With that being said, this could be a clue this is the final chapter we see from Heihachi and Kazuya. Both characters have been the focal point of every Tekken game since 1995. It could also mean Tekken 7 may be the last in the series to feature other favorite characters too.

No release date has been set for Tekken 7 yet. More info on the game will be shared on July 25th at Comic Con.
