Batman: Arkham Origins will be the first game in the Arkham Series to arrive with an online multiplayer mode. Called Invisible Predator Online, the multiplayer component of Origins is being developed externally from the main game, by Splash Damage. The mode was recently revealed, and we’ve got our first taste of online action for the Dark Knight.
The game appears to be a turf control, faction-based contest that allows players to command one of three different groups. The main leaders appear to Bane, the Joker, and then Batman & Robin. This first for the franchise could be the best thing ever, or the worst, Arkham fans are gonna have to sweat it out until October to find out if the online mode can carry its weight.
If the name Splash Damage sounds familiar, that’s because they did another big multiplayer title this generation, with Brink. While Brink didn’t quite catch on to the massive popularity that they had hoped for, the game held some great new ideas nonetheless.
Look for the new invisible predator mode in Batman: Arkham Origins when the game launches on October 25th.
