A first look at gameplay for XCOM: Enemy Within shows off some of the new genetic and cybernetic soldier enhancements to be found in the upcoming expansion for the 2012 TBS Standout. The first major expansion for the game will see the enhancements noted as well as new weapons, environments, and new enemy types.

The game will follow the same core gameplay as the original release. Build your XCOM base, recruit and build up an army of XCOM soldiers, do your research, and try to save humanity from the increasing enemy threat.

XCOM: Enemy Within takes the incredible experience from XCOM: Enemy Unknown and adds an array of new abilities, upgrades, and weapons to combat new enemy threats. The expansion also provides players with all-new maps, tactical and strategic gameplay, and multiplayer content. There is no better way to experience XCOM than with the massive amount of new content added in XCOM: Enemy Within. Fans will experience an additional three to four playthroughs on average before encountering all of the new material included in XCOM: Enemy Within, providing nearly limitless replayability.

XCOM: Enemy Within is slated to arrive on November 12th in a couple of different forms. PC and Mac players can purchase the full game for $29.99. While Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players will have to fork up $39.99 for the XCOM: Enemy Within Commander Edition. This expansion comes with two previously released bouts of DLC: The Elite Soldier Pack and the Slingshot Content Pack.
