A number of you may have seen Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens already. If not, then click away because we will be discussing what happens at the end of that movie and how it leads into Episode 8.

Seriously, if you have not seen The Force Awakens, go see it now. Spoilers will be discussed in this article. If you’ve seen it already, we can delve deeper into what Episode 8 might be about and more.

Anyway, Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens ended with a lot of questions more than answers. This is a good thing as it entices us to watch the rest of the trilogy. There’s many things that could be explored in the next movie which is just entitled Episode 8 for now.

The ending scene of The Force Awakens shows Rey meeting up with Luke Skywalker for the first time. Luke Skywalker has been in hiding for many years as he felt guilty about Kylo Ren going to the dark side.

What Episode 8 could tell us is the real identity for Rey. In The Force Awakens, we know she has Force Powers as she used a Jedi mind trick on a Stormtrooper (played by Daniel Craig) and she held her own in a lightsaber fight vs Kylo Ren.

She was sent to Jakku at a very young age and has been waiting for her family for a very long time. However, her family never arrived to meet her again. It’s possible she’s related to someone in the Star Wars universe.

In Episode 8, we may know who she really is. Many people feel she could be the daughter of Luke Skywalker himself. Others think she might be related to Obi-Wan Kenobi somehow. It doesn’t appear as if she’s related to Han Solo or Leia Organa. Those two characters didn’t seem to have recognized her in The Force Awakens.

The only reason people feel she’s related to a Jedi is because how powerful she was in The Force Awakens. She did not have proper training but was able to resist Kylo Ren’s mind tricks. Not to mention she knew how to wield a lightsaber too!

The next movie could mirror The Empire Strikes Back. Luke Skywalker sought the training of Yoda. This movie we will see Rey honing her Jedi powers with Luke. Kylo Ren is still alive and The First Order is still powerful even though Starkiller Base got destroyed.

Another character that we may get to know better is Finn. Finn was kidnapped from his family as a young child to train to be a Stormtrooper. He never knew his real name or where he’s from. There was a rumor he could be the son of Lando Calrissian. Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen. Hopefully we know more about Finn’s past in the next film.

Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens ended on a high note, but both Rey and Finn have a lot to do if they want to destroy The First Order for good. Leia Organa and the Resistance are still alive and kicking so they can help out too.

Anyway, Episode 8 is not out until May 2017. It will be directed by Rian Johnson. The script is nearly finished and J.J. Abrams already praised it. It will be great to see what’s in store for the new characters.
