Rise of the Tomb Raider will be pushing the limits of the Xbox One hardware.

Rise of the Tomb Raider’s game director, Brian Horton, explained more details about the game on the Game Informer podcast. He claims the game will “push the boundaries” of the Xbox One hardware. The Xbox One only came out in November 2013, and developers have yet to fully show what the hardware is capable of at the moment.

Horton explained the Xbox 360 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider will essentially be the same game as the Xbox One version. Things will just be adjusted here and there as the Xbox 360 isn’t as powerful as the Xbox One. He praised Nixxes for developing that version of the game.

Horton said with Nixxes handling the Xbox 360 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, this gave time for Crystal Dynamics to fully concentrate on the Xbox One version. Because of this, Crystal Dynamics won’t be “limited at all” he said.

Horton ended things by praising the hard work that Crystal Dynamics is doing on Rise of the Tomb Raider at the moment. He promises gameplay footage for the game will be shared very soon. We should also hear more updates on the game later this year too.
