A man from New York walked into Cold Stone Creamery to buy ice cream but turned around right away after seeing the prices. TikToker Biggie Shorty posted a video showing his reaction, and it now has over 522,000 views. He walked up to the counter and filmed the menu board to show everyone the shocking prices.
At this location, a pint of ice cream costs $16.99. The quart size is $21.99, and the triple pint is $27.99. These prices are extremely high, even for premium ice cream. Many people simply can’t afford to pay that much for a carton to take home.
The TikTok user was clearly shocked and didn’t hide his feelings. According to Bro Bible, he said on camera, “I’m at Ms. Cold Stone. And I will die on the cross and be buried alive before I ever pay this much for a little bucket of ice cream.” He joked that Cold Stone “is out of her mind” and asked if this was because of inflation.
Cold Stone’s prices have jumped dramatically over the years
Looking at the price history makes the situation even crazier. Back in 2011, a pint cost only $6.99, a quart was $8.99, and the triple pint was $12.99. Even after an official price increase in March 2025, the prices went up to $9.99 for a pint, $12.99 for a quart, and $15.99 for a triple pint.
The prices the TikToker saw in New York are almost double the official 2025 prices. This huge difference likely happens because many Cold Stone stores are owned by franchisees. Individual owners can set their own prices, so you might see different costs depending on your location. Cold Stone isn’t the only ice cream brand facing customer backlash lately, as consumers discovered shocking truths about Breyers.
The base prices aren’t the only problem. Other customers complain that Cold Stone charges extra fees for their “signature flavors,” which can add several dollars to your order. Many people think this is a terrible policy since the company heavily advertises these flavors.
Viewers on TikTok completely agreed with the man and said they would never pay that much for ice cream.”They’re pricing themselves out of business,” one user wrote. Another user revealed that they feel priced out, saying: “Used to be one of my favorite places but the prices are insane now.”
Food delivery concerns have also been rising, especially after a DoorDash driver’s horrifying food tampering incident.
If Cold Stone wants to keep customers buying their take-home cartons, they need to seriously reconsider their pricing strategy.
