Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon will feature local and online multiplayer when it releases on the Nintendo 3DS this March. It was a rumored inclusion when leaked by an online retailer, but Nintendo has gone ahead and confirmed and detailed the new online functionality and Download play capabilities in a recent press release.
Luigi can join with up to four players and journey into the ScareScraper, which is packed with paranormal creatures. In Hunter Mode, each player controls a different color Luigi and is challenged to hunt down ghost and use effective teamwork to clear each floor of the tower before the clock strikes zero. Players will earn bonuses and upgrades depending on performance, as well as do battle with bosses at the top of each tower. Players can choose the number of floors they wish to play, and ranges from 5, 10, or 25 and on numerous difficulty levels.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS on March 24th, and can be purchased at traditional retail outlets or through the Nintendo eShop using wi-fi.
