“Eat at your own risk” A TikToker warned about Chipotle chicken, then revealed how a routine meal nearly left her brother paralyzed

Make sure to keep this in mind before your next Chipotle visit.

Eating restaurant food sometimes becomes a topic of debate due to health concerns, as food quality is a key factor in human health. Speaking of that, this debate could potentially spark again with this TikTok creator @brednbutta, who posted a video claiming that her brother was almost paralyzed by eating a Chipotle Mexican Grill chicken bowl.

According to Brobible, the TikToker claimed that her brother started throwing up one day, and initially, they thought that it was a case of regular food poisoning. Even though they took it lightly, his condition started worsening, and he continued to be in the same state for five constant days. They rushed him to the hospital, where his treatment started. The sister revealed that her brother had a Chipotle Mexican Grill chicken bowl earlier that day.

She stated, “10 hours later, right on cue, we have throwing up and yitting his pants,”  And when they took him to the hospital, the doctors were of the view that “This could be bad,” and that is when they declared it to be an advanced case of a Campylobacter infection. They told her brother, “That bacteria usually figures itself out, but your body isn’t doing that… you’re getting sicker.”

Their nightmare turned real when doctors confirmed the case was even worse

It looks like Chipotle, whose stock is tanking, proved dangerous for this man. According to his sister, even after discovering that he had this Campylobacter infection, things were not that bad. They got worse when the doctors declared that if he had not been brought in at that time, her brother might have developed a worse case of an autoimmune disorder named Guillain-Barré Syndrome. This disease could have turned fatal if treatment had been delayed.

She talked about the incident, saying, “Then they’re like, ‘Well, a complication of this bacteria is this Guillain-Barré Syndrome,’ A severe, sometimes fatal, autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks nerves, leading to muscle weakness and paralysis. You could get a slow tingling in your feet, then numbness from the knees down.” This suggests the intensity of her brother’s condition and that he was lucky enough to get timely treatment.

She reported that they were lucky that her brother got treated on time, but she indirectly took a shot at Chipotle, indirectly referring to it as the cause of this whole mess, as she said, “Eat at your own risk. It’s not a dig at Chipotle. I hope everyone’s okay out there.” Even though it is not confirmed that this medical complication was caused by Chipotle chicken, her claims seem to point the finger at it.

These claims, although not widely reported, could spark debate about the quality of food in restaurants, a topic that concerns many. While we have heard of a woman who slammed Chipotle over a BOGO deal issue, nothing similar to this TikToker’s horrific experience has come to light.
