A CNN review of Natalie Harp’s now-removed X account, which was previously Twitter, found that she posted more than 150 tweets on January 6, 2021. She urged Republicans to “FIGHT FOR TRUMP” as President Donald Trump began his speech near the White House. Harp also repeated the president’s claims that the election was stolen and shared messages from his allies who questioned Joe Biden’s win.
Harp’s X account appears to be suspended. It is not clear when the account was taken down or whether she or the platform removed the posts. Neither Harp nor the White House responded to CNN’s requests for comment.
Harp was a One America News Network host at the time. Her Twitter bio described her as a Trump “advisory board” member. David B. Cohen, a political science professor at the University of Akron who studies the American presidency, said, “She has proven to be a totally loyal sycophantic adviser and staffer for him.” He added, “Trump likes that, he doesn’t like to be questioned. He likes to be revered, and she clearly does that.”
Harp shared Trump family messages and praised the crowd as patriots before the Capitol events
As a crowd gathered in Washington, DC, on the morning of January 6, Harp shared comments from Trump’s family members. Those comments declared, “This movement will never, ever die!” and “This fight has only just begun.” Harp, then 29, called the pro-Trump demonstrators gathering for Trump’s speech “patriots.” She challenged lawmakers to show “a fraction of the courage & passion” of the crowd and declared, “today we STOP THE STEAL!”
Harp also promoted Rudy Giuliani’s call, “let’s have trial by combat!” during his speech. Lawyers for Giuliani later said his call was “hyperbolic” and not a call for violence. When the president began to speak, Harp tweeted “FIGHT FOR TRUMP!” a dozen times within a single post. She added, “Today D.C. is TRUMP COUNTRY!” She live-tweeted the president’s speech with the words, “We will never give up. We will never concede!”
After a pro-Trump mob forced its way into the US Capitol, Harp shared tweets insisting the rioters were “not Trump supporters.” She also circulated reports that Antifa had infiltrated the mob. Later, Harp shared Trump’s calls for the rioters to go home. In related news, the Trump administration has explored making payouts to January 6 rioters.
Hours after the Capitol attack forced Congress to halt the electoral count, Harp again shared posts from Giuliani. She quoted his statements that the delay had created “a few more options particularly with this delay,” and that Trump’s legal team was working on “how we can take advantage of those options.” She added an American flag emoji.
After the House voted to reject the objection raised by Republican lawmakers to counting Arizona’s electoral votes, Harp tweeted, “America may not be America anymore. But God’s still God. Don’t stop believing!!” She thanked Rep. Jody Hice for being “a man of his word and the Constitution.” She praised Marjorie Taylor Greene for her “courage.” She called Josh Hawley “a true patriot” who “refuses to be intimidated out of his duty to the Constitution.”
Harp also hailed the six senators who voted to sustain objections. Those senators were Ted Cruz, Hawley, Cindy Hyde-Smith, John Kennedy, Roger Marshall, and Tommy Tuberville. She called them “patriots” who “did not waver in the fight for our beloved country & @POTUS.” Other lawmakers faced different outcomes for their January 6 positions, as Trump worked to make Cassidy pay for Jan. 6 vote.
The following day, after Trump publicly said that a new administration would take office, Harp shared his message that “our incredible journey is only just beginning.” Fourteen minutes later, she posted, “We love you, President @realDonaldTrump!”
Harp’s posts about the election results did not start on January 6, 2021. In the weeks before that day, she posted, “We will never give up – for TRUTH is on our side. January 6th is coming!!.” Days after the election results, she posted, “WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU! x 71 million.” On December 14, she posted, “THIS IS A COUP.”
Harp has served as a close aide to the president during his second term. She worked mostly out of public view until this week, when Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff mentioned her by name in a speech. On Thursday, the Daily Beast published two letters that were reportedly written to the president and that expressed her loyalty to him.
The tweets reviewed by CNN show Harp posting about Trump dating back to at least 2016, when she first began writing about him on Twitter. Harp also tweeted Bible verses about the president. She defended him on the day he was impeached in 2019 with the words, “Vindicate [@realDonaldTrump], my God, and plead [his] cause against an unfaithful nation,” and “.@realDonaldTrump, ‘I thank my God upon every remembrance of you!!!’”
