Bioware has made no secrets about a new Mass Effect game coming out of their Montreal studio.  This weekend at PAX, Casey Hudson explained that the next entry in the Mass Effect sereis will be a “fresh and new” start for the franchise.  Hudson will still be the executive producer on “Mass Effect 4”, with Bioware Montreal being the primary developer on the title.

“We want to give fans an opportunity to get back into the world with things you’ve come to know and love about Mass Effect,” said Hudson during a presentation at PAX East.  “That’s kind of our next thing.  We’re focusing on delivering something new, the way we did at the very beginning of Mass Effect,” Hudson added.

Outside of their established franchises, Hudson did also confirm that the development studio is working on a brand-new franchise.  He didn’t go into any specifics about what this new franchise could be, or where and when it would arrive.

We’ve been hearing a lot about Bioware’s next Mass Effect game as of late.  Just last month, Chris Priestly confirmed that Commander Shepard’s story line is finished.  “The Mass Effect universe is so rich that we are not limited to a single track when coming up with a new story.”
