The upcoming DLC for ‘Ryse: Son Of Rome’ will bring in new maps, a character skin and a brand new ‘Survival Mode’, according to Xbox Wire.

The DLC, titled ‘Mars’ Chosen Pack’, has included the new game mode as a way to test the speed and endurance of gamers –

”In Survival mode, there is only one objective: battle alongside a fellow gladiator against endless waves of barbarians as your health gradually drains. The only way to regain health and keep death at bay is with quick kills and brutal executions, but the longer you survive, earning more gold and experience with each wave successfully cleared, the faster your health depletes.”

In addition to this, five new maps are included; named ‘Firestorm, Dockyard, Pyramid and Obelisk’. The final map is a re-imagining of Courtyard, one of the most popular original maps which now designed around Survival Mode. Topping off this list is a new character skin; the Legionary.

The DLC is set to arrive at the end of the month for roughly $8.99 USD through the Xbox Games Store and though the popularity of Ryse has dropped off somewhat since it’s launch, the DLC intends to provide a revival. Couple with this the recent news that digital copies will be receiving a discount and it would seem that Ryse may be making a small, albeit limited, comeback.
