Yakuza is one of SEGA’s most well known mature rated franchises that is popular with fans in both Japan and the west. It seems fans will have another title to gawk over with the announcement of a new Yakuza title set to be revealed.
Even though that both Yakuza 5 (PS3) and Yakuza: Ishin (PS4) never made it to the west (yet, I hope). SEGA is set to announce a new Yakuza title on August 24th at 21:00 JPN. One would assume a return to the numbered Yakuza format after Ishin, but it could be anything, even a new entry with new characters. The reveal was shown via a teaser site that was set up which is simply just the dragon logo and a red background.Which can be seen below. After the dust settles the date is revealed and if you click it, the site reverts to NicoVideo where the stream and reveal will likely take place. Hope you can speak Japanese.
Be sure to check out either NicoVideo or the teaser site on August 24th to see what is next for SEGA’s Yakuza franchise. Hopefully, we will see a localization announcement for Yakuza 5 or Ishin to coincide with this. One can only hope.
