Super Meat Boy is finally making its way to Sony’s consoles, a reason to celebrate for all of you masochists out there. And thanks to PS Plus, Super Meat Boy will be freely available to anyone with a subscription and a PS Vita or PS4.

Super Meat Boy, for those who don’t know, though you really should, is an extraordinarily difficult indie platformer developed by Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen (of The Binding of Isaac fame). It’s about split second reactions, precise platforming and a heck of a lot of memorization, and it’s sublime.

Arriving on October 6th, sadly, Super Meat Boy won’t sport the original release’s soundtrack as developers Team Meat weren’t able to secure the rights from composer Danny Baranowsky. That said, it will contain an all new soundtrack, which does have us eager to give the game another go, and so does one other thing, in fact.

Earning the Platinum Trophy for Super Meat Boy will mean you’re part of an elite few because it’s going to be, perhaps, the most difficult Platinum Trophy to obtain. Have you seen the list of trophies, it’s insane.

Trust us, you are going to die a lot, or alternatively, need hundreds of hours of practice at the very least before you’re good enough to take on what’s required of you to earn every trophy.

Just to give you an example of what awaits you, on average less than 1% of those who’ve played Super Meat Boy on Steam have achieved a no death achievement. We wish you the best of luck.
