If you’ve been playing around with the open beta for Overwatch and are planning on picking up the main game when it launches later this year, you might find that very little else will be included in the full game.
The news was revealed by the game’s director Jeff Kaplan, who detailed the content in the full game compared to the open beta. He said that “The version you are playing now is what will go live at launch (there will be some bug fixes etc…)”
However, he goes on to say that a lot more is on the way, saying “We’re also working on a TON of post-launch features and content. It’s going to be a pretty amazing summer.”
A lot of new things will be on the way for the game after launch, but one of the bigger ones is competitive play. Blizzard is still tweaking the game mode from feedback received from the closed beta, though they promise that it will be released shortly after the game’s launch.
Overwatch will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 24th.
