If Skyward Sword really is to be the last game made for the Wii, at least the console will have an exit worthy of remembrance. From what we’ve seen so far, this will be the Zelda title that both fans of the series and Wii owners have been waiting quite a while for.

The Wii Motion Plus control is not just a gimmick here. It looks as if you really will have realistic and accurate control over Link’s sword which will allow for subtle movements and sword swings. If you haven’t yet heard, Shigeru Miyamoto was clear when speaking to Nintendo employees of his high expectations for the game: Skyward Sword is to be the best Zelda game to date.

Fortunately, it looks like the developers have taken those words to heart.
