Sega has revealed a bit more of information about the upoming Yakuza Kiwami 2, the new PS4 version of the classic game, this time using the Dragon Engine of the latest entries. What has been revealed are two new sidegames that made their debut in Yakuza Zero and Yakuza 6. Known as ‘New Nightlife Island’ and ‘New Clan Creator,’ these play spots will allow us to diverge from the main story to complete two side quests with their own unique plotline and gameplay based more on strategy and management.
On New Nightlife Island, the protagonist gets involved with Yuki, the owner of a cabaret club Four Shine, who players will remember from Yakuza Zero. Yuki and her club are participating in a “Cabaret Club Grand Prix” competition, in order to gain the title of best night club in Japan. With the future of Yuki’s business on the line, Kiryu helps to manage the club by assigning the different waitresses to each customer, based on their tastes. The more satisfied customers feel, the more money they will spend that night, with the possibility to develop special abilities to increase the performance.
On the other hand, New Clan Creator is based on the minigame of Yakuza 6, and it puts players in control of the Majima Construction crew, who suffer the attack of hundreds of enemies from rival clans. The gameplay is deeply strategic and focuses on the defense of the base in real time from large groups of enemies.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 received a new trailer a month ago during Tokyo Game Show 2017. The game will launch for PS4 on December 7 in Japan, and it’s expected to release in the West in 2018. Check out more images below.
