Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Cameo Could Have Injustice: Gods Among Us Influence

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is officially out throughout most of the world now, just having its early showings debut in the US last night. Theaters already had multiple showings last night and will have them all day starting today.

Before going any further, if you have not seen the movie yet, I would highly recommend you not read any further. The topic that will be discussed here features major spoilers for not only this movie, but potential future movies as well.

There have been plenty of rumors that have been swirling around for a couple years now, with some coming true and some not. We at least knew entering the movie that a few other major players in the DC Universe will make a cameo of some sort as a way to preview the future. Later in the movie, we see that Lex has been keeping tabs on a few metahumans, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg.

This part was great to see, but the more intriguing part came a good bit earlier in the movie during a pretty shocking sequence. Bruce Wayne seems to be having a dream where he is in a desert like setting around a destroyed city, which is the “dream sequence” we saw in trailers. He starts off by looking through binoculars to an area where you can see Darkseid’s Omega symbol in the ground.

Batman is meeting with some bad guys about something before he is quickly betrayed and his other men are taken out. This leads to a quick fight scene against a bunch of soldiers with Superman patches on their arms, along with what appears to be Darkseid’s Parademons from the comics as well. A very evil looking Superman shows up and unmasks Batman, which we saw previously in a trailer as well.

It then cuts back to Bruce in the Batcave where he dozed off, now with some sort of time portal in front of him that has a cameo by The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, complete in his tech looking costume. He warns Bruce by saying “You were right about him. You’ve always been right about him.”  He then warns that Lois Lane is the key, as it sounds like the death of Lois makes Superman go insane.

Now if you have played Injustice: Gods Among Us, this may sound very familiar, as the plot revolved around a Superman gone rogue after Joker tricks him into killing Lois. After he then kills the Joker in brutal fashion, he essentially becomes a dictator, similar to the Earth-3 Crime Syndicate. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, most of the good guys are dead already, so the good guys from another Earth are brought in to help out, which is something that could be really cool to see done in the movies.

The big question now is whether the warning from the Flash came from the future or from a parallel Earth, both of which DC has tackled many times in the past. We’ve already seen both of these done on the TV version of The Flash, so it was neat to see something similar done here as well.
