Could Joker Show Up In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still a little under a year away but filming has been done for a few months now. The follow-up title Suicide Squad has just started however and that has brought much discussion in the last week with Jared Leto’s Joker reveal. Now comes rumors that we may possibly see the Joker a good bit earlier than August 2016 in Suicide Squad, but rather in a small cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Be warned the below information will feature major spoilers of a classic Batman storyline and potential way it could be interweaved into the cinematic universe.

One of the most iconic moments for the Joker was when he outright murdered the second Robin, aka Jason Todd, following a phone vote by readers asking if they could kill him or not. While Todd has returned as the Red Hood in more recent years, this moment has been used to absolutely break Batman and show how brutal the Joker really is. With set pictures of the Batcave from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showing Jason Todd’s costume in a glass case, it would seem that he was killed at some point prior to the events of the movie.

The new rumor that has been circulating and backed up by Latino Review, who has been very on target with Suicide Squad news, is that they are currently filming a flashback sequence that will be added to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice where the Joker kills Jason Todd. This seems to fit with the news of Ben Affleck on the set of Suicide Squad, though it is said he’s likely filming for that movie as well. With talk that Suicide Squad may take place before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it could be good to see how Joker got in prison in the first place.

It might seem weird to have this flashback in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice rather than Suicide Squad, but a scene like that would allow us to see a whole new side of Batman already and also be introduced to possibly the most psychotic Joker yet in live action.

A flashback appearance for Joker in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is not the only rumor right now involving Joker, as rumors are swirling that the highly controversial tattoos and such were only done as part of a marketing stunt for the 75th anniversary of the Joker character and won’t be in the actual movie. Pictures from the set of Suicide Squad aren’t showing these tattoos, so either they are being CGed on, which would be rather stupid or he could get them later. Either way, it’s bound to be a topic of discussion for awhile.

What do you think of the possibility of our first glimpse of Joker coming in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice instead, with perhaps one of the most brutal scenes in Batman history finally being shown in live action? Make sure to let us know in the comments below.
