A new report suggests two Star Wars games might be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Right now, the console’s 2026 lineup looks pretty thin. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is the main game so far, along with smaller releases like Mario Tennis Fever and Pokemon Pokopia. There are also some third-party games like Resident Evil Requiem and Dispatch, but the lineup needs more games.
According to Comicbook.com, Disney is pushing hard to get future Star Wars games on the Nintendo Switch 2. The company also wants to bring some older Star Wars games to the console. The report claims EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are being worked on for the Switch 2. Neither game is currently available on any Nintendo console.
The original report comes from Nash Weedle, a well-known Nintendo insider with a decent track record. It doesn’t mention release dates for these games. However, Nintendo Switch 2 owners are hoping they arrive sometime next year to fill out the console’s game library.
These two games represent some of Star Wars’ best recent offerings
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came out in 2019 from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher EA. Respawn, best known for its work on Apex Legends and the Titanfall series, brought its fast-paced combat expertise and strong narrative focus to a galaxy far, far away.
The gamble paid off. Within its first year on the market, Fallen Order sold more than 10 million copies, comfortably exceeding expectations and re-establishing confidence in story-driven Star Wars titles. Critically, the game was also well received, earning a Metacritic score of 81, with praise directed at its lightsaber combat, level design and cinematic storytelling.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched in 2023 as the sequel. It received even better reviews, scoring 85 on Metacritic. However, it didn’t sell as well as the first game. Disney has been making headlines recently for what authorities confirmed at Disney World, though the gaming division continues pushing forward. The sequel also had major performance problems when it launched, especially on PC, which upset many players.
Nintendo fans would be getting these games late, but the timing works out well. EA is currently making a third game in the series, which will be the final installment. Since neither game ever came to the original Nintendo Switch, this would be the first chance for Nintendo players to try these AAA Star Wars titles, including the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While Disney focuses on gaming expansion, other unusual stories have emerged, like this bear owner’s hibernation trick.
Keep in mind this report isn’t official information yet. Nothing has been confirmed by Disney, EA, or Nintendo.
