Halo: Spartan Strike is a touch-based top-down shooter that was due to arrive on December 12th. However, it seems that all hands are on deck at 343 to fix the ongoing matchmaking issues for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, delaying the Windows 8, Windows Phone, and Steam release.

Per Halo Waypoint: “While we’re excited about this all-new Halo experience, our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issue in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority.”

The result of this is that Halo: Spartan Strike has been shifted to “early 2015”. The Master Chief Collection has seen a number of patches hit Xbox Live since it’s early-November release, but many users are still experiencing issues with the game. The latest patch did improve matchmaking speed times, and 343 revealed that balancing updates would arrive next week. Though multiple playlists are still unavailable within matchmaking, and will likely be addressed down the line.
