The Assassin’s Creed Movie Trailer had a Secret AC2 Easter Egg

by Kyle Hanson

The Assassin’s Creed movie trailer hit the internet the other day, sparking a fury of both hype and analysis. Fans pored over every frame in the trailer, trying to gain any new knowledge about the story, or the world that the movie is set in. Today Ubisoft released their own set of analysis, showing off a bunch of hidden details that the Assassin’s Creed movie trailer contained, including a very secret and well hidden AC2 Easter egg.

The specific instance comes right after our hero, Callum Lynch is introduced to the new and improved Animus machine. While using this device Lynch will be mentally transported back in time, allowing him to relive moments from his ancestor’s life. One of the biggest areas of departure that the movie takes from the games themselves is with this device, which has been massively redesigned from its video game counterpart.

However, that doesn’t mean that the video game equivalent is absent from the movie, in fact it is right there in the background. “Those with extra-sharp eyes may have also noticed a callout to the games in the background behind Dr. Rikkin: the Animus 2.0, first seen in Assassin’s Creed II,” reads the Assassin’s Creed movie trailer analysis page from Ubisoft.

That’s not all that is hidden throughout the trailer, so head over to Ubisoft’s page to see the rest, and be sure to let us know what little details you found in the comments below.
