The Battlefield 3 communication problems that some players have been having will be fixed next week, according to DICE. The developer appears to have found the solution in the latest update, which should hit servers on February 6th. The 20 Mb patch will be an automatic update for PlayStation 3 players, but you may also need to tweak a few settings on the console to get everything to work as it should.
“Please note that some VOIP issues on PS3 might be due to incorrect setup of the headset you are using,” said DICE. If you are using the SLEH-00075 Bluetooth Headset, it must be recognized by your PS3 console by connecting it with a USB cable before play. Once connected, you must also enable the HQ mode for this headset, which can be found on the XMB in the settings section.”
DICE also says if problems persist after the update and settings switch, try deleting all registered headsets from the settings page, rinse and repeat the steps.
Look for the update next Monday.
