Bethesda has apparently not given up on getting the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC to work on the PlayStation 3. In their weekly status update for the expansion pack, Bethesda’s Pete Hines explained that the company is still “trying things” to fix the problems that the DLC is facing on the console.
“Not Cancelled,” said Hines via Twitter. “Still working on it. The process of ‘trying things’ just isn’t a quick one.”
Bethesda has kept PS3 Skyrim players in the loop through the troubled development process on the console. The developer has cited numerous problems with providing a consistent user experience on the PS3, and have candidly admitted that it doesn’t meet their quality standards, hence the delayed released.
The Dawnguard Expansion for Skyrim is the biggest add-on to date for the RPG. Expanding the story line of the game, Dawnguard has you picking sides to fight for or against a Vampire threat in the world of Tamriel. Earlier, Bethesda also said that Dawnguard on PS3 could impact future DLC releases on the console. Right now, hopes are low for PS3 players looking to get their hands on the second Skyrim expansion called “Hearthfire”.
