Bethesda has issued numerous confirmations that Dawnguard on the PlayStation 3 is an uncertainty at this point, due to technical issues that the developer is facing in bringing the expansion content to the console. Bethesda hasn’t explained exactly what these problems are, but they have recently confirmed that they are working with Sony closely to resolve the issues. Recently, Sony has made comments on their involvement in bringing Dawnguard to the PS3.
In a statement issued to Kotaku, Sony’s Adam Boynes explained that the console maker is working with Bethesda to fix the issues.
“We work with all of our partners to try and solve their problems. We have a big, broad dev support team that works closely with Bethesda and with all our partners to work with them to solve any sort of issues they have along the way.”
“I can’t promise any kind of resolution or timeline but can say that everyone involved is trying their best to get this stuff working.”
While Boynes issues no guidance on the status of the problems, Bethesda’s Pete Hines has been keeping fans updated on the status of Dawnguard on the PS3 via Twitter. Most recently, Hines alluded to “performance issues” on the PS3 that may be holding the game back from release.
