Beyond Good and Evil 2 has finally been announced by Ubisoft after years and years of waiting by a passionate and patient fanbase of the original game. Â Announced as a prequel to the 2003 release, Beyond Good and Evil 2 had been in and out of the rumor mill in recent years.
A little bit of backstory has been given to the game, but not much was seen on the gameplay front. Â Other than the fact it is a prequel that will take players to System 3 and introduce a new cast in an entirely new solar system comprised of multi-cultural characters. Â Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a “spiritual successor” to the original game according to Ubisoft but it looks like it’s going to take the franchise forward as even in the brief announcement the game was announced to feature solo and multiplayer gameplay in what Ubisoft calls a “vast online playground.”
Other than the confirmation of the game not much else has been revealed. Â The game has not been given a release window, platforms, or gameplay. Â You can check out the cinematic trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2 below, as well as a developer-led walkthrough scene by scene for the reveal with Michel Ancel.
Being a game that features multiplayer, Ubisoft has asked those interested to sign-up for testing and early access at bgegame.com to help shape the future via their “Space Monkey” program.
