In what can only be described as predictable, Microsoft has announced that Crackdown 3 has been delayed once again, this time to “Feb. 2019.”
The news comes via a statement issued to Windows Central, where it promised to share more information about the game during its E3 2018 press conference on June 10.
Here is the full statement:
“Our fans’ response to the signature antics and explosive gameplay of Crackdown 3 has been incredible,” the statement reads. “To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, Crackdown 3 will be launching in Feb 2019. We look forward to sharing more on Crackdown 3 this Sunday during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing.”
It seems that Crackdown 3 is stuck in development hell. As you might recall, it was first announced at E3 2014 and given a 2016 release window at Gamescom 2015. However, it was soon delayed to 2017 and received a precise release date of Nov. 7, 2017 at E3 that year, but found itself delayed once more, this time to spring 2018.
Everyone figured there was another delay considering we are well past the spring months, but this announcement confirmed it.
Needless to say, Microsoft learned it was a mistake to announce Crackdown 3 so early, but the fact still remains that fans have had to wait nearly four years and there’s still nothing to show for it. At this point, Microsoft will really need to have a spectacular E3 performance this year — not just for itself, but to prove to fans that it has more to offer this generation than just more consoles.
Assuming nothing else happens, Crackdown 3 is set to arrive on the Xbox One and PC in Feb. 2019.
