A TikTok user has gone viral after sharing a restaurant receipt that appears to show some outrageous prices at the Krusty Krab. The video, posted by @captain.t.roll, has racked up 31.4 million views, 2.7 million likes and more than 66,400 comments, with viewers reacting to the surprisingly detailed charges on the bill.
According to the creator, he had just finished a dine-in meal at the Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom, Florida, when he received the receipt. The bill, which is labeled with a Bikini Bottom address and dated July 5, 2026, lists a $9 Krabby Patty followed by a $3 charge simply for adding pickles. The creator points out the pickle fee in disbelief, saying he was charged $3 just to add them to his burger.
The receipt quickly became the focus of the video, with on-screen text warning viewers, “Do not eat at this restaurant!!!” The creator said he had received recommendations to try the restaurant and enjoyed the food, but he was stunned by the way the menu items were priced. His complaint has since sparked a broader discussion among viewers about unexpected restaurant charges and whether some add-ons are worth the extra cost.
Receipt in the video lists extra charges for ice, a straw, packets and plastic silverware
The receipt that appears in the video is labeled KRUSTY KRAB, 831 BOTTOM FEEDER LANE, BIKINI BOTTOM, FL. It shows a sale date of 07/05/2026 at 01:43 PM. On-screen text overlays the receipt and reads, “Do not eat at this restaurant!!!”
The man pointed to the first item listed as 1 KRABBY PATTY for $9.00, followed by ADD PICKLES for $3.00. He said, “they charge me $3 just to add pickles to it.” The TikTok caption on the video reads, “I received a lot of recommendations to try out this restaurant, and even though the food was good, the way they price their menu items are insane. #receipt #tipping”
The man continued by pointing to 1 KRUSTY KRAB PIZZA for $15.00, which he said was delicious, and 1 DIET DR. KELP for $2.50. He stated that they charged him $1.50 to add ice to his drink and 75 cents for the straw.
He said he got 2 tartar sauce packets and they charged him 75 cents each for those. He added that it was 40 cents each for the 2 ketchup packets that he got. He then pointed to 1 SILVERWARE for $2.00 and said, “no, it’s $2 for silverware, and mind you, these are plastic silverware, not even real silverware.”
The man showed 3 NAPKINS for $1.50 and said that is 50 cents each. He pointed to a TRAY USAGE FEE for $1.75, a BOOTH FEE for $3.75 for sitting at a booth, and a TABLE CLEANING FEE of $1.25. He said they charged him an included tip of $12.10. Such unusual fees have appeared elsewhere, as a different restaurant receipt showed a cooking fee, a seating fee, and a bartender fee at a house address.
The receipt that appears in the video shows a SUBTOTAL of $56.40, TAX of $5.22, and a TOTAL of $61.62. The man concluded by stating, “Do not eat at the Krusty Krab.” The video ends with on-screen text asking, “What would you do?”
Viewers left comments on the video. One commenter asked if the charges were allowed and wrote, “is that legal.” Another commenter joked about an extra fee and wrote, “They charged me $4 for looking at your receipt.” Unexpected charges on receipts can frustrate customers, like a Baltimore McDonald’s order that included an extra bag fee.
One commenter referred to the restaurant owner and wrote, “Mr. Krabs doesn’t mess with his Moneys.” Another commenter reacted to the listed fees and wrote, “What? Even ice and table cleanng fee???? This is a joke.”
A commenter said they would avoid the place and wrote, “Thanks for the heads up. I’ll never eat there.” One commenter discussed tipping practices and wrote, “I still can’t understand why in America the customer has to tip the server when the restaurant owners pay them next to nothing. Why doesn’t America increase the minimum wage to international rates and cut out all this tipping BS.”
