Apex Legends just dropped on gamers like a Titan falling from the sky. While we all knew that Respawn had something big coming today, few thought they’d be launching one of the best looking Battle Royale titles around. This free-to-play game is here now though on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Being on all three of those platforms, gamers have the usual question at the front of their mind: does Apex Legends support Cross-Play?
Unfortunately the answer is a solid “no” for now. Apex Legends, from the makers of Titanfall, may exist on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but players are segmented by platform at launch. You cannot form parties, or even play with your friends on another type of console or PC. Will that change in the future? Only Respawn knows, but it’s almost certainly something they are looking at.
Cross-Play has become a much desired feature among gamers, who have seen their friend groups segmented by platform for years. As multiplayer gaming has become almost solely reliant on online gaming, the desire to play with friends, no matter the console or platform has become even greater. Hopefully Apex Legends can join its fellow Battle Royale games like Fortnite in offering this feature to all its players very soon.
