Don’t Expect to See The Elder Scrolls 6 at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase

The Xbox and Bethesda Showcase will premiere on July 12, and lots of players are already excited about the online event largely because it’s a huge opportunity to possibly show The Elder Scrolls 6. Many of them are curious about what reveals both companies have in store, and with all of the recent delays some fans are hopeful about what’s coming.   Should they be though?  The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t likely to be shown at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase.

The Elder Scrolls series is one of the most recognized game series of recent years, and for good reason. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was a groundbreaking title that merged many genres, making it one of the best games of the Xbox 360 and PS3 generations. Featuring many DLCs, community-made mods, and rereleases across many systems and consoles. In fact, at some point, Skyrim’s rereleases became a meme around the community, poking jokes at how many times could Bethesda sell players the same experience.

Skyrim fans have been waiting for a long time for a sequel to the acclaimed title, that at the time of its release back in 2011, was easily one of the best games on the market. Unfortunately for fans of the series, Bethesda has its hands full with some new projects, so players should not expect a lot about The Elder Scrolls 6 on Xbox and Bethesda’s Showcase.  Recently Bethesda announced a delay regarding one of the upcoming titles on their schedule, Starfield was initially going to launch on November 12 of 2022, and even though lots of players were excited about the release, some of them were expecting a delay given the complexity and size of the game.

This delay was a made a couple of days ago, and it sat decently well with the community. Bethesda’s reasoning behind the delay was that the studio wanted to deliver the best experience; trying to avoid another Cyberpunk 2077 situation like many years ago. At the end of the Tweet that shared the news, they hinted at a gameplay reveal that soon will show players how much progress the development team has made so far.

Bethesda’s focus is on Starfield, and for a good reason. The title has the community excited, and delivering on their promise could mean the start of another franchise like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout. Fans who have been waiting for some news about The Elder Scrolls 6 will be disappointed with this, but at least they will have something to look forward to in 2023.

All in all, players who are craving some The Elder Scrolls adventure can always go and play The Elder Scrolls Online and have fun quests and battles against AI opponents and players.

The Elder Scroll 6 does not have a release date.
