Starfield’s fans are going to be disappointed with this recent discovery. Starfield got delayed, so looks like players will have to wait a little longer until they get to experience the new title from the creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Starfield was announced back in 2018, and since then, fans of the open-world genre have been eager to get a glance at what is coming in this space-themed title made by the creators that brought titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Earlier today, the official Bethesda Twitter page made a tweet regarding Starfield’s release date, and many fans are already reacting to the news. According to the tweet, the Bethesda Game Studio has incredible ambitions regarding this new title, and they want to ensure the best product possible at launch, so this is why they will delay both Redfall and Starfield until the first half of 2023. At the end of the short tweet, the developers said: We can’t wait to share our first deep dive into the gameplay for both Redfall and Starfield soon. So fans of both titles are going to get a sneak peek into the games soon. Of course, this is not the same as getting a full release, but at least they will get to see how the game is shaping up to be.

These delays are quite annoying for most fans but they are always better for the final experience. Many titles fail to deliver what they promised just because the developing studio ran out of time.

Games like No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 could use some delays to deliver a decent final product. The decision to delay Starfield and Redfall must not be easy, but it will be worth it when both titles come in a better state.

Starfield’s map is 12 times bigger than the one found in Skyrim, so one can imagine the amount of work and time dedicated to bringing the level of detail that Bethesda’s games are known for.

The community’s response is somewhat split, many players expected this delay while others state that a delay does not mean a higher quality game in the long run. The truth is, we can only trust the developers and the reasons behind this delay.

Starfield is set to be released in the first half of 2023.
