Dragon Ball Super looks like it won’t be ending anytime soon. Later this week will be episode 45, but the series could go up to as high as episode 72 based on retailer listings of the DVD/Blu-ray sets.
As noted by Amazon Japan, the next three DVD/Blu-ray box sets have been listed for Dragon Ball Super and they show the release dates and episodes that they will cover. It was rumored last year that the series could have 100 episodes.
The fourth box set features episodes 37 to 48. The Japanese release date for it is October 4th, 2016. The fifth box set has episodes 49 until 60 and this has a release date of January 6th, 2016. Finally, the sixth box set has episodes 61 to 72 and will be out on April 4th, 2017.
The new Future Trunks saga is set to start very soon in June. Future Trunks will make his debut in Dragon Ball Super on June 12th in episode 47. It’s unknown how long the saga will last, but many people are happy to see the return of Trunks. Fans have not seen him since the Perfect Cell saga ended back in Dragon Ball Z.
Dragon Ball Super could last even longer if they go through with the 12 universe tournament that was teased back in episode 41. This tournament could be bigger and better than the one we just saw between Universe 6 vs Universe 7.
