Dragon Ball Z is one of the most iconic animes of all time and after somewhat of a lull, the Dragon Ball franchise is on a roll as of late, with two new movies and a sequel series just announced recently. We also just had the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse earlier this year and now we have learned that another Dragon Ball Z game series that some worried might stay as a Japanese exclusive is coming to other regions outside of Japan after all.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden was just announced very recently as the next entry in the long running Butoden series, this time for the Nintendo 3DS. Outside of a few games like Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22 and Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout, the US has missed out almost entirely on this 2D based series. Luckily, it is sounding like Extreme Butoden will indeed be coming at some point.

According to Siliconera, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden has been rated by the Australian Classification Board. While this is only in Australia so far, typically any game like this to release there would also come to the US and Europe.

Making the odds of this expanding being Australia as well even better is that fact that Bandai Namco is listed the publisher, who also distributes the various Dragon Ball games in the US as well. There would be absolutely no reason for Bandai Namco to pick up the game for release there and not do so here as well.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden looks like it could be a lot of fun to play on a handheld like the 3DS, but it is likely going to be awhile before we can get our hands on it. Stay tuned for any other details about this release, with the possibility of a reveal by Bandai Namco at E3 next week.
