Errol Musk, the 79-year-old father of billionaire Elon Musk, has caused major controversy with his recent comments about race in America. In an interview with Donnie O’Sullivan for a show called MisinfoNation: White Genocide, he made several shocking statements that have upset many people.
The conversation was about claims of a “white genocide” happening to South African farmers, something both Elon Musk and Donald Trump have talked about before. When O’Sullivan told Errol that America’s white population is expected to become a minority in the next 20 years, he looked surprised and worried.
As per Daily Mail, Errol said it would be “a very, very bad thing to happen” if white people became a minority and asked, “You want to see the US go down?” He then said something highly offensive, asking “You want to go back to the jungle?” These comments came after hearing that by 2045, minorities will make up 51 percent of Americans, with Hispanics at 24.6 percent, Black people at 13.1 percent, and Asians at 7.9 percent.
The Apartheid comments were absolutely wild
The most upsetting part of the interview happened when they talked about South Africa’s Apartheid period. Errol claimed he never saw any oppression of Black people during that time, which made O’Sullivan clearly angry.
When the reporter said Black people were treated badly for decades under Apartheid, Errol responded in a way that stunned viewers. “No! How do you oppress? You know, we gave them work, we fed them,” he said. He tried to argue that because the Black population grew larger, it meant they were treated well, saying, “They grew from a tiny little group into a massive group. That’s not oppression, that’s feeding them!”
He kept saying he never witnessed any oppression at all. “I never saw this oppression you’re talking about,” he insisted. O’Sullivan pointed out that Errol probably didn’t see it because he’s white, which made the exchange even more heated. The younger Musk has had his own problems, including backlash over his partnership with Trump that sparked a Tesla boycott.
Errol went on to say that white South Africans “learned from Europe” and tried to make it sound like their rule was actually helpful. His refusal to accept what Apartheid really was and his claim that the system was somehow good goes against everything we know from history and the millions of Black South Africans who lived through that terrible time.
Elon Musk has said before that his father is a “terrible human being” and has suggested his childhood was not easy. These new comments from Errol give us a look at the kind of thinking that might have been around when Elon was growing up, even though Elon has tried to stay away from his father in recent years. Still, Trump recently revealed the current status of his relationship with Elon Musk, showing their connection is still going strong.
