Are you having trouble trying to purchase Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn? It might be because Square Enix has announced that will no longer be taking on new players or selling digital copies of the newly releases MMO. According to Square Enix, there is an overwhelming demand on the servers, and players are experiencing very long wait times.

“Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, we are currently experiencing extremely long wait times for users to be able to login and play.” said Square Enix via Facebook.

“As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’s digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play. We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days.”

Final Fantasy 14 has been a troubled project for Square Enix to say the very least. It’s encouraging that they’ve finally gotten things right, and that at least there are people who want to play the MMO. On the other hand, if they aren’t able to support all of those players, what’s the use.

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is available on the PC and PlayStation 3.
