The first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has now been released by Sony and Marvel Studios. The trailer made its debut on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will follow Peter Parker after the events of Captain America: Civil War. He’s now buddies with Tony Stark and Stark treats him like his own kid.
The previous Spidey movies from Sony have been criticized by some for lacking the right type of wit and humor that the character possesses. This first trailer shows us that Marvel/Sony might be finally doing the character justice. Tom Holland seems to be playing the character the right way.
As for the main villain of the movie, we see a small glimpse of Michael Keaton as the role of The Vulture. The Vulture looked kind of cheap in the old comic books. To modernize the movie, The Vulture in this film now has a futuristic robotic suit. We’re still not sure why The Vuture hates Spider-Man yet, but we’ll obviously know when we watch the movie.
Even though this is a solo Spider-Man film, it appears that Tony Stark will be getting a big-ish role. After all, Robert Downey Jr is a proven Box Office draw so you don’t want to limit his screen time. There is also something great to watch near the end of the trailer. The end of the trailer is arguably one that will get Marvel fans screaming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out on July 7th, 2017 in North America. It’s a busy year for Marvel as Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok are also out in 2017. All of these Marvel films are gearing up for a huge showdown in Avengers: Infinity War. Infinity War will see many of the heroes trying to take down Thanos.
