The movie event of not only the year, but the last decade is almost here with Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. Following the premiere event Monday night, the movie is releasing in some parts of the world today ahead of the release in the US Friday, which means the review embargo is officially over and the movie is already getting stellar reviews.

Yesterday, we told you that the movie was getting some high praise from people on Twitter that saw it, but this was limited to just simple tweets saying it is good. The big deal was when the review embargo ending this morning at 3:00 am ET, which was really the opening of the floodgates.

Since that time, we have gotten 87 total reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and 86 of the 87 are fresh thus far, which is almost unheard of, bringing the total RT meter to 99% right now for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. It seems like we’re getting a new review added very few minutes, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on as the day goes on.

Perhaps most impressive is that we had 60 positive reviews before we even got one negative, which comes from a small movie blogger site. Obviously, some of these reviews are pretty spoiler heavy, so I would avoid them entirely if I were you and just stick to the overall rating on RT if you want to keep up with that.

Of course, there is nowhere to go but down at this point for The Force Awakens, which is bound to happen at least a little bit, but this is an incredible start for a movie that sounds like it really does live up to the hype.
