Five Nights At Freddy’s was barely even known at this time last year, prior to the release of the first game, but it has quickly become one of the fastest growing series out there with its fourth game just releasing last week. It was also announced previously that a Five Nights At Freddy’s movie was coming and now it has been revealed who will be directing the film.

In an exclusive report from Deadline, it was revealed that Warner Bros. has picked Gil Kenan to direct the live action Five Nights At Freddy’s movie, based on the the PC and mobile device series of game that take place in a place similar to Chuck-E-Cheese. Known as one of the most unsettling series out there right now, it seems Kenan is a perfect fit.

Kenan first gained steam in the industry after directing the well received Monster House back in 2006, later also doing City of Ember in 2008. His most recent project is the one that likely earned him the directing nod for Five Night’s At Freddy’s. That movie in particular was the Poltergeist remake, though it did only receive mediocre at best reviews.

Kenan will also be helping to write the script alongside Tyler Burton Smith, with Roy Lee producing. Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, Adam Stone, and Jay Ireland will be executive producing the movie, while Jon Berg aand Nik Mavinkurve will be overseeing the project.

No release window has been announced for the game yet, but I would assume that they do not plan on taking too long on this one, especially with the rate the games have been coming out.
